Abstract

A continuous zone drawing apparatus was designed to analyze the continuous zone drawing process and a zone drawing model was proposed to calculate the temperature and velocity profiles inside the specimen from which the modes of heat transfer were examined. With the concept of heat transfer between heat band and specimen a global equation that can explain the relation between the velocity profile and continuous zone drawing parameters was derived. By using the solution of global equation. One can control the continuous zone drawing process.
