초록

Various properties of superabsorbents(HCSPAH) from sodium cellulose sulfate were analyzed. Saline absorbency of HCSPAN in multivalent salt solutions was lower than that in monovalent salt solution of same ionic strength. This appears to be due to the formation of completes between the metal ion and the polyion. Phase transitions of HCSPAN gels were caused by changes in the composition of the polar organic solvent/water mixtures. As the dieleciric constants of solvents were increased, gel collapse occurred at higher solvent concentrations. From DSC measurement, the absorbed water was found to exist as both free and bound water. When water content was less than 0.71g-water/g-dry HCSPAH. only bound water existed.
