Abstract

To prepare a durable softening water repellant(PADWC), quaternized octadccyl methacrylate-2-dieth-ylaminoethyl methacrylate(ODMAC) as a mother resin and quaternized fatty carbamide(DACDC) which increase the softening effect and the hydrostatic pressure. Were blended with waxes and their emulsifier in various and improved tear strength and crease recovery. There was no significant lowering effect in water repellency when PADWC was applied with the antistatic agent by the one-bath method, and the effect of catalyst on water repellency was studied. Decrease of the color fastness to crocking of dyed textiles was not significant when durable softening water repellent PADWC was used. And the water repellency mechanism of cotton fabrics treated with PADWC was also discussed in detail.
