Abstract

The shear behavior of woven and nonwoven fabrics is one of the most important factors affecting their drape, handle and dimensional stability. In order to understand the effect of structural parameter on various nonwoven fabrics, the structure, shear-hysteresis curve and shear-characteristic values (G, 2HG, 2HGS) of these none, oven fabrics were investigated with other parameters such as fabrics weight (GSM) and bonding: methods. As the result of experiment, it can be concluded that shea increases with incrtasing the fabric weight and other shear characteristics (2HG, 2HGS) are similar with shear rigidity. Also, it is shown that shear-hysteresis curve and morphological structure of nonwoven fabrics are different characters with the bonding method ; water-jet binding fabric has a close structure with the woven fabric, needle-punching fabric has an isotropically entangled structure and thormal-bonding fabric has a densely melted structure.
