Abstract
Whole cells of Methylosinus trichosporium OB3b, the obligate methylotroph, were used to produce propylene oxide from propane. This strain has methane monooxygenase, which catalyzes the conversion methane to methanol and can catalyze also the conversion propane to propylene oxide.
