Lysis Action of Lauric Acid on Bacillus subtilis var. niger

Effect of lauric acid and whir derivatives on the growth of Bacillus subtilis var niger was studied. Lauric acid showed the strongest inhibition among the fatty acids tested, Lysis rate of lauric acid proved to be greatly sensitibility against logarithmic phase cells but was not so influenced by cell concentration.
