A Study on the Cationization of Cotton Fiber
면 섬유의 카티온화에 관한 연구
Abstract
Ammoniated cotton was prepared by carbamoylethylation of cotton followed by Hofmann reaction. Carbamoylethylation was carried out by varying the concentration of acrylamide and sodium hydroxide, treating temperature and time. Ammunition was carried out by varying the concentration of sodium hypochlorite, treating temperature and time. The reactions were confirmed by observing the IR spectra. The strength of carbamoylethylated cotton fabric decreased with the increase of acrylamide concentration and increased with the increase of sodium hydroxide concentration. The amount of acid dye on ammoniated cotton was one fourth or one fifth in comparison with that of wool.
