Abstract
Axenic tissue culture of a marine red algae Porphyra yezoensis foma narawaensis was established for the vegetative propagation of tissues as a seed stock and for the development of a low salinity-tolerant cell line. Callus tissues have been induced from the vegetative area of blade away from the hold fast when grown on PES-agar medium.
