Abstract

Aromatic primary amine group was introduced into cellulose by the reaction with 4-aminophenyl-$\beta$-sulfatoethylsulfone(APSS). The influences of initial pH, reaction temperature and swelling agent on the degree of substitution were investigated. The aromatic amino group introduced in cellulose was diazotized and applied as an initiator of vinyl radical graft copolymerization in the presence of metallic ion. The effect of metallic ion concentration, monomer concentration and temperature in this application were also studied. The diazotized amino group was coupled with coupling agents for the purpose of developing the chromophore into the aminized cellulose with APSS.
