Abstract

Polyethyleneimine type chelate resin was synthesized by graft copolymerization of 2-methyl-2-oxazoline onto crosslinked chloromethylpolystyrenes. Polymeric effect such as crosslinking ratio and crosslinking agent introduced to chloromethylpolystyrene resin matrix on the graft copolymerization was investigated. The addition of dimethylformamide as solvent to the graft system increased the degree of graft copolymerization and decreased the activation energy of graft copolymerization.
