Abstract

KTALIS has the objectives of sharing information through computer networks and constructing a total system for information management. It consists of three subsystems-books system, periodicals system, and indexed articles system. The books system is menu-driven on-line system that supports Korean-English mixed texts, and it has acquisition, cataloguing, retrieval, circulation and other functions. The development of the books system has completed, and it is in service now.

KTALIS(KTA Library Information System)는 한국전기통신공사(KTA)내의 컴퓨터망을 이용한 정보관리 업무의 토탈시스팀 구축을 목표로 도서관의 정보관리 업무를 전산화한 것으로 크게 단행본 시스팀, 정기간행물 시스팀 및 기사색인 시스팀의 3개 서브시스팀으로 분할하고 각각의 서브시스팀별로 토탈시스팀 기능을 수행토록 하였으며 한글, 영문 혼용자료와 완벽한 한글메뉴처리 등을 구현한 독특한 정보관리전용 온라인 데이타베이스시스팀으로 개발하였다. 본고에서는 1차로 개발완료하여 수서, 목록, 검색, 대출 서비스에 들어간 단행본 시스팀에 대하여 기술하였다.
