Abstract

In order to investigate the tensile properties of the plain rib knitted fabrics, a three dimensional model was established. The results were as follows. 1. The course and wale-wise stress-strain curve during deformation process before the limiting stretch ratio may by represented by the following equation. Tc1=EI/lc2 . 4/pc2Fc2 = EI/W12 . 4/Pc2{(2P2-1) Fc-2pPc2Ec2} Tw1=EI/lw2 . 8/pw2Fw2 = EI/C12 8/Pw2{(2Pw2-1) Fw-2Pw2Ew}2. The initial tensile curves may be represented by the graphical method from equation 24 and Fig.9.
