Abstract
The cellulolytic activities of Aspergillus fumigatus KC-1 was investigated, which showed the most active producer of cellulase among the 256 strains of cellulose-decomposing microorganisms screened in our laboratory. All the examined cellulolytic activities (filter paper-, Avicel-, cotton-, CMC-, salicin- and xylansaccharifying activity) in a culture of A. fumigatus KC-1 grown on 1% popular sawdust pretreated with peroxide alkaline reached a maximum within 4-5 days. The optimum pH and temperature for the enzymatic activity was found to be pH 4.5 and
