Comparative Study on MARC Formats:based on -KORMARC·CHINESE MARC and JAPAN MARC(I)

MARC 포맷에 관한 비교연구(比較硏究)(I) -KORMARC·CHINESE MARC·JAPAN MARC를 중심(中心)으로-

This comparative analysis is a preliminary study for the Integrated format in MARC systems in Korea, Taiwan and Japan. For this purpose, it analyzes KORMARC, CHINESE MARC and JAPAN MARC formats, dividing them into the structure of the record, its contents, and content designation. The results of this analysis shows that t~ere is no compatibility among these three formats due to the differences in the organization and division of the data elements and the deficiency of the data elements themselves.

본(本) 고(稿)는 한국(韓國), 중국(中國), 일본(日本)의 MARC시스팀에 있어서 하나의 통합(統合)된 MARC Format을 제정(制定)하기 위한 가능성(可能性)에 대한 예비적(豫備的) 연구(硏究)로서 시도(試圖)되었다. 이를 위하여 삼국(三國)의 대표적(代表的)인 MARC인 KORMARC, CHINESE MARC, JAPAN MARC의 Format을 선택(選擇)하여, 이를 레코드의 구조(構造), 레코드의 내용(內容), 내용표식방법(內容標識方法)으로 나누어 비교분석(比較分析)하였다. 이와같은 분석결과(分析結果), 레코드의 구조(構造)에 있어서는 세 포맷이 모두 동일(同一)하였으나, 그 내용(內容)과 내용표식방법(內容標識方法)에 있어서는 데이터요소(要素)의 구성(構成)이나 세분정도(細分程度)의 차이(差異) 또는 데이터요소(要素) 자체의 결여(缺如)등으로 인하여 호환성(互換性)을 갖지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
