System flows in a mechanized library and automatic information retrieval system are examined. Obstacles to computerizing library processing including cost and information volume are studied. The mechanizatioin of library housekeeping activities such as an acquisition, cataloging and circulations are considered in a total library system in which all operations are part of a cooperative or centeralized proessing agency. Recall and precision under a variety of automatic classification and indexing systems are examined and an interactive feedback system of query processing is suggested to increase the recall and precision.

現在 圖書情報 檢索體系의 問題點을 分析하고 전자계산기가 도서관과 情 報檢索體에서 할수 있는 기능 및 Random Access가 可能한 보조기억장치(DASD : Direct Access Storage Device)를 이용한 정보검색체계 方法에 對해 살펴보고 자 한다. 또한 이 경우 생기는 문제점과 새로운 정보검색체계의 성취도 등을 비 교하여 可書들에게 전자계산기의 도서관 이용에 對해 주의를 喚氣시키는 한편 이 때 發生하는 여러 反對와 問題 등에 論하고자 한다.
