Abstract

The change of fine structure in the PET film grafted with acrylic acid(AA)/methyl methacrylate(MMA), using benzoylperoxide(BPO) as an initiator, was investigated. The change of PET film was measured by IR, Rheovibron, DSC and polarizing microscope. It was shown that the optimum conditions for maximum grafting ratio were〔AA/MMA〕7:8(wt.%), LiCI conc. 15mmol./1, reaction temp. 90℃, reaction time 1hr. The peak and peak temperature of tanδ curve, the storage modulus E' were decreased and the peak temperature of loss modulus E" was shifted considerably to lower temperature by increasing grafting ratio. The elastic modulus fraction(fe) and heterogeneity index of amorphous region(nt) were increased by increasing reaction time and grafting ratio.
