On Staple Length Cut by Using a New Method of Cutting Tow Coiled Along the Spindle

The authors have devised a new converter which cuts tow coiled along the spindle by means of a revolving circular plate cutter. This pilot converter was designed to make slivers for cotton spinning system. Calculations were made on the effect of changes in tension of the tow being fed, changes in spindle diameter and two diameter, upon staple length.
