A Study on the Thickness of Plain Knitted Fabric Part I : A Theoretical Analysis for Predicting the Thickness in Relaxed State

This investigation aims to thetheoretical analysis for predicting the thickness of plain-knitted fabric. Results on thickness of plain-knitted fabric are obtained in dry-relaxed state, based on Suh's theory on plain knitted fabric, and in wet-, on Love's theory on twill fabrics. Diameter and characteristics of knitted yarn are the main factors that determine the thickness of plain-knitted fabrics.
