Photochemical Behaviors of Oxime Derivatives

Abstract

Benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane was prepared from benzophenone oxime and phenyl isocyanate in N-methyl pyrrolidone. To deduce the mechanisms of photodegradation of polyoxime urethanes and oxime derivatives, the photolysis of benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane as the model compound was investigated. A benzene solution of benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane was irradiated in a stream of nitrogen with an immersion type of 400W high pressure mercury lamp at 4$0^{\circ}C$ for 10.5 hours. By the chromatographic separation on silicagel, the following components were isolated in the order of diphenyl, benzophenone phenylhydrazone, phenyl benzoate, benzophenoneazine, benzophenone,benzophenone oxime, and starting material, benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane. From the photolyzed products, the photolyzing mechanisms of oxime urethanes were deduced and the fact that the photo-cleavages of oxime compounds proceed mainly on bonds at =N-O-was confirmed.

Benzophenone oxime 과 phenyl isocyanate를 N-methyl pyrrolidone중에서 반응시켜 benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane을 합성하고, polyoxime urethane 및 oxime 유도체의 광분해기구를 구명하기 위하여 model 화합물로서 benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane의 광분해를 행하였다. benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane의 2% benzene 용액을 내부조사장치, 질소기류중에서 400W 초고압수은등을 사용하여 4$0^{\circ}C$에서 10.5시간 광조사하였다. 광부해물은 column chromatography에 의하여 diphenyl, benzophenone phenylhydrazone, phenyl benzoate, benzophenone azine, benzopheone, benzophenone oxime 등을 분리하였고 이들 화합물로부터 benzophenone oxime phenyl urethane의 광분해기구를 검토하였다.
