HMO Calculations on Some Azo dyes

HMO calculations on four azo dyes have been carried out and various MO quantities have been derived. The light-fastness of the dyes have been discussed using calculated MO quantities, and found that delocalization energies of the ground state is a good measure of the light-fastness.(Received April 5. 1971)
