Study to Exchange Metadata of Maritime electronic chart

전자해도에 대한 메타데이터 변환 시스템 연구

Because voyages of large ship applies electronic chart, electronic chart standardization takes a peak importance in navigation safety. Currently the standard electronic chart follows the form S-57 but is currently establishing S-100 as the new Transfer Standard for Digital Hydrographic Data. S-100 was determined by IHO about Transfer Standard for Digital Hydrographic Data in 2010 years. Hence as S-100 takes place as the new standard for the safety of ocean vessel activities, the electronic chart, which was previously based on S-57, would be in avail only after it follows the new S-100 form. This paper discusses analyzations of metadata thorugh S-57 record and field, and study a system which creates S-100 Metadata.

해양에서 대형 선박의 운항은 국제 규격을 갖춘 전자해도 시스템을 활용하므로, 전자해도 표준은 안전 항해에서 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 현재는 전자해도 표준을 국제수로기구(IHO) S-57을 따르고 있으나, 새로운 해양표준안으로 S-100 제정이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 2010년 IHO에서는 해양데이터 표준안으로 S-100으로 채택하기로 결정하였다. 따라서 S-57 기반으로 만들어진 전자해도는 S-100 표준에 따라 변환되어야 할 필요성이 있다. 본 논문에서는 S-57 레코드 및 필드를 분석하여 S-101의 Metadata를 생성하는 시스템을 연구하였다.
