Abstract

The SMS(Short Message Service) in Mobile phone is a service that a text message by 80byte is transmitted and received. Recently it's used instead of voice calls. In this paper, We investigate how you take advantage of the SMS for searching information without simply as a means of voice call, and how much efficiency does the SMS have in Location Information Retrieval Services on LBS(Location-based service). Based on the previous topics, we design the information retrieval system using SMS for solveing the rates issue by existing wireless Internet access, and propose the possibility as new forms of content services.

모바일 폰의 단문전송서비스(SMS)는 80byte 내의 텍스트를 송, 수신할 수 있는 서비스이며 현재 음성통화 대체수단으로 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 단문전송서비스를 단순히 음성통화 대체수단으로 사용하는 것이 아닌 정보검색 수단으로 활용할 수 있는 방법을 조사하고 위치기반서비스(LBS)의 위치정보 검색 서비스에 얼마나 효용성을 가질 수 있는지 연구해본다. 이를 바탕으로 단문전송서비스를 활용한 정보검색시스템을 구성하여 기존 위치 정보 시스템의 무선 인터넷에 따른 이용요금 문제를 해결, LBS 시장의 새로운 형태의 콘텐츠 서비스로서의 가능성을 제안한다.
