콘크리트는 건설재료 중에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 재료이다. 과밀한 철근배근에서의 콘크리트 타설시콘크리트의 굵은골재 치수 사용에 한계가 있다. 이에 비해 모르타르는 콘크리트보다 골재의 치수가 작아 간극통과성이 콘크리트보다 뛰어나다. 이에 모르타르를 골재 입도분포를 조절하여 실적률을 증가시켜 단위수량을 저감하면서 건조 수축량을 감소시키고 분리저항성 및 간극통과성등이 매우 뛰어나 콘크리트의 대체재료가 될 수 있을 것으로 판단되어, 과밀한 철근배근, 노후화된 건물벽체의 개보수, 지하층 기둥이나 보의 보수보강을 좀더 유용하게 하기위해 본 연구를 실시하게 되었다. 금번 연구에서는 골재의 입도분포를 조절한 후 골재의 치환율(40%,50%,60%)을 조절하여 물시멘트비를 30%, 40% 두 수준으로 나누어 모르타르 공시체를 제작하였으며, 이에 따른 공기량, 슬럼프, 압축강도를 비교하여 나타내었다.
