The Semantic Web and Its Applications

시맨틱 웹과 그 응용

Web is a part of our daily life and now it is ready to become a new Web called Semantic Web. The Semantic Web does not require entire human process for collecting and processing the information on the Web. Automation of efficient information retrieval, new knowledge generation, exact web service providing and so on are become possible through the Semantic Web. In this paper, the main idea of the Semantic Web and its application areas are discussed.

우리의 일상 생활의 일부가 되어버린 웹은 시맨틱 웹으로 한 번의 탈바꿈을 준비하고 있다. 웹상의 정보를 수집하고 처리하는데 더 이상의 인간의 전적인 개입을 요구하지 않겠다는 것이다. 시맨틱 웹을 통해서는 각종 자동화된 에이전트를 이용하여 효율적인 정보검색, 새로운 지식의 생성, 최적의 서비스 제공 등이 가능하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 최근 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 시맨틱 웹과 그 응용분야에 대하여 알아본다.
