A study on the analysis of rolling stock fire accidents in Korea

According to ' Monthly report of train accidents and incidents ' of KNR, 95 numbers of rolling stock fire accidents/incidents had happened during last five years(from 1999 to 2003). Among them, there have happened only one injured accident which happened at Whamyung station in 1999. But it is necessary to consider a countermeasure for fire accidents/incidents, because they have big risk which might produce a large scale damage and lots of injured persons as the Taegu subway fire accident last year. This paper analyzes the rolling stock fire accidents/incidents which have happened during last five years in KNR, and suggests their countermeasures.
