Abstract

The anaerobic bacterium Clostridium ljungdahlii was known to produce ethanol from CO, $CO_2$ and $H_2$ In this research the production of ethanol at high concentration from carbon monoxide was studied. ethanol production using fed -batch, ceramic filter supported system, and 2-stage bioreactors were tested and optimized.
