Abstract

A $H_{\infty}$ controller is applied in order to control STATCOM and SSSC effectively under the circumstances where there exist some disturbances, modeling errors and noises. A one-machine infinite-bus power system is used as an analysis system. It is shown that the $H_{\infty}$ controllers of STATCOM and SSSC provide robust control performances to the power system with some disturbances and noises.
