The Coordinate Transformation Between Korean and GPS Geodetic Reference System

GPS 측지기준계와 우리나라 측지기준계의 좌표변환

Before GPS is practically used in Kores, we must fix a problem on the coordinate transfomation between WGS 84 and Korean geodetic system based on Bessel ellipsoid. On this article, I investigate various coordinate trans formation methods and review the researched results about the coordinate transformation which have been performed in Korea. With the inspection of which method is more applicable to Korea, I discuss about the future prospect and the fixing way for the problem of domestic coordinate transfomation.

GPS가 우리나라에서 실용화되기 위해서는 Bessel 타원체에 기준한 우리나라의 측지기준계와 GPS에서 사용하는 측지기준계(WGS 84)간의 좌표변환이 선결과제이다. 이 글에서는 여러가지 좌표변환 방법에 대한 고찰과 더불어 국내에서 그동안 수행하여 왔던 좌표변환에 관한 연구결과를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 토대로 각 좌표변환 방법의 국내의 적용성 여부를 검토하고, 좌표변환의 문제점 및 해결방안과 앞으로의 전망에 대하여 논의 하고자 한다.
