Degradation and Metabolism of Phorate in Soil

Abstract
To get further information on the behavior of phorate(0,0-diethyl S-ethylthiomethyl phosphorodithioate) in soil under the subtropical conditions, a field experiment has been conducted. Phorate granule (10%) was applied to silt loam soil at the rate of 40kg a.i./ha and incorporated to 10cm soil depth. Residues of phorate and its metabolites in soil were determined with GLC and confirmed qualitatively with TLC. Phorate was rapidly oxidized to its sulfoxide and sulfone. Therefore, main metabolic pathway of phorate in soil was the oxidation of phorate to phorate sulfoxide and sulfone. Phorate sulfoxide and sulfone were relatively more persistent than phorate itself. Phoratoxon was detected at low level only up to 30 days after treatment and its sulfoxide and sulfone were not detected during the whole experimental period. Toluene-acetonitrile-nitromethane(40 : 30 : 30, v/v/v) solvent system separated satisfactorily phorate and its five metabolites. Most of the residues was found in the initial incorporation depth
토양중(土壤中) phorate의 행동(行動)에 관(關)한 보다 많은 정보(情報)를 얻기 위(爲)하여, phorate입제(粒劑)(10%)를 40kg a.i./ha의 비율(比率)로 토양혼화처리(土壤混和處理)한 후 15일(15日) 간격(間隔)으로 90일(90日)까지 토양중(土壤中) phorate의 행동(行動)을 GLC와 TLC로 조사(調査)하였다. 토양중(土壤中) phorate는 phorate sulfoxide와 phorate sulfone으로 신속(迅速)히 산화(酸化)되었으며, 토양중(土壤中) phorate의 주요대사경로(主要代射經路)는 측류(測류)의 sulfide가 phorate sulfoxide와 phorate sulfone으로 산화(酸化)되는 과정(過程)임이 확인(確認)되었다. phorate sulfoxide와 phorate sulfone의 잔류성(殘留性)은 비교적(比較的) 길었던 반면(反面), phoratoxon은 시험초기(試驗初期)에만 미량(微量)으로 검출(檢出)되었다. phoratoxon sulfoxide와 phoratoxon sulfone은 시험전기간(試驗全期間)동안 어느 시료(試料)에서도 검출(檢出)되지 않았다. 그러므로 토양(土壤)에서 검출(檢出)된 농약(農藥)은 주(主)로 phorate와 그의 sulfoxide 및 sulfone으로 구성(構成)되었으며, 이들을 합(合)친 전체잔류량(全體殘留量)의 반감기(半減期)는 60일(60日) 정도(程度)이었다. 한편 토양중(土壤中) phorate와 그 대사산물(代謝産物)들의 하부(下部)로의 이동(移動)은 별(別)로 없었으며 대부분(大部分)의 농약(農藥)이 처리(處理)후
